Tuqa-Timur

13th century · 13th century

Tuqa-Timur was a son of Jochi, eldest son of Genghis Khan, who received lands in the western part of the Mongol steppe in the thirteenth century. Several later Chinggisid dynasties claimed descent from him, among them the Giray khans of Crimea, the khans of Kazan and Astrakhan, and the Janid rulers of Bukhara, so his name recurs in their genealogies.
