Twenty-fifth Dynasty of Egypt
The Twenty-fifth Dynasty of Egypt was a line of Kushite kings from Nubia who ruled Egypt in the eighth and seventh centuries BCE. Under rulers such as Piye and Taharqa they united the Nile Valley from Napata to the Delta and revived traditional Egyptian religion and art. They were driven out of Egypt by the Assyrians but continued to rule Kush, as described in the Kushite Empire profile.
