Vicenza

Also known as Vicetia

Vicenza is a city in the Veneto, north-eastern Italy, between the Berici Hills and the Alps. Ancient Vicetia was a town of the Veneti and later a Roman municipium. It came under Venetian rule in 1404 and is famous for the buildings of the 16th-century architect Andrea Palladio, which with his villas in the Veneto form a World Heritage Site.
