War of the Third Coalition
The War of the Third Coalition (1805) was fought by Napoleonic France and its allies against Britain, Austria, Russia, Sweden and Naples. Napoleon forced an Austrian army to surrender at Ulm and defeated the Austrians and Russians at Austerlitz on 2 December 1805, although Britain won control of the sea at Trafalgar. The Treaty of Pressburg made Austria cede lands in Germany and Italy and led to the end of the Holy Roman Empire in 1806.
