Black Isle
The Black Isle is a peninsula in Easter Ross in the Scottish Highlands, bounded by the Cromarty Firth, the Beauly Firth and the Moray Firth. Despite its name it is not an island. Its fertile farmland, small towns such as Cromarty and Fortrose, and Iron Age and Pictish remains make it one of the richest historical districts of the northern Highlands.
