Borgohain
The Borgohain was one of the two oldest ministerial offices of the Ahom kingdom of Assam, alongside the Burhagohain, traditionally dated to the founder Sukaphaa in the 13th century. Hereditary in a particular Ahom noble clan, it formed with the Burhagohain and the later Borpatrogohain the council of three great Gohains who advised the king and confirmed royal successions.
