Durban
Durban is the largest city of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, and one of Africa's busiest ports, on the Indian Ocean coast. British traders founded Port Natal there in 1824, and it was renamed in 1835 after Sir Benjamin D'Urban, governor of the Cape Colony. It grew as the port of the Colony of Natal, with sugar plantations nearby, and became home to a large community of Indian origin.
