Gutians
The Gutians were a people from the Zagros Mountains who raided and settled in Mesopotamia in the late third millennium BCE. Their incursions contributed to the collapse of the Akkadian Empire, after which they held power in parts of Sumer. Their expulsion was followed by the rise of the Neo-Sumerian Empire under the Third Dynasty of Ur.
