Ibn Zaydun
Ibn Zaydun (1003–1071) was an Arab poet of Córdoba, regarded as one of the greatest poets of al-Andalus. He served the Jahwarid government of Córdoba but was imprisoned and fled, and later became vizier to the Abbadid kings of Seville, al-Mutadid and al-Mutamid. His love poems to the Umayyad princess Wallada bint al-Mustakfi and his literary epistles are classics of Arabic literature.
