Kulashekhara Alvar
Kulashekhara Alvar was a king of the Chera Perumals of Kerala and one of the twelve Alvars, the Tamil Vaishnava poet-saints, probably of the 9th century. His Tamil hymns, the Perumal Tirumoli, form part of the Nalayira Divya Prabandham, and the Sanskrit devotional poem Mukundamala is attributed to him. Tradition says he gave up his throne for a life of devotion to Vishnu at Srirangam.
