O'Cahan dynasty

Also known as Ó Catháin, O'Kane

The O'Cahans, Ó Catháin, were a Gaelic ruling family in the north of present-day County Londonderry, Ireland, from the 12th century to the early 17th. As chief vassals of the O'Neills they took part in their inauguration at Tullyhogue. Their lands were confiscated after the Flight of the Earls and planted by the London companies.
