Person
Poppaea Sabina
Poppaea Sabina was a Roman noblewoman, wife of Otho and then, from 62 CE, of the emperor Nero. Nero sent Otho away to govern Lusitania in 58 to remove him as a rival, and ancient historians accuse Poppaea of encouraging the deaths of Nero's mother Agrippina and his first wife Octavia. She died in 65, reportedly after Nero kicked her while she was pregnant.
