Qerri
Qerri was a town on the Nile in Sudan, north of the confluence of the Blue and White Niles. From the early 16th century it was the seat of the Abdallab sheikhs, descendants of Abdallah Jamma, who governed the northern part of the Funj Sultanate of Sennar as its vassals. From there they controlled the Nile routes leading north towards Egypt.
