Saint-Cloud
Saint-Cloud is a town on the Seine west of Paris, named after the Merovingian prince Clodoald, Saint Cloud, who founded a monastery there in the 6th century. Its château, built by the Orléans branch of the French royal family, was a residence of Napoleon, who seized power at Saint-Cloud in the coup of 18 Brumaire in 1799. The château was burnt in 1870, but its park remains.
