Shu-Sin

r. c. 2037–2029 BCE · 21st century BCE · Also known as Shu-Suen

Shu-Sin was the fourth king of the Third Dynasty of Ur, who reigned for about nine years in the late 21st century BCE. He campaigned in the Zagros and against Shimashki, and built a long fortification wall, called 'Repeller of the Tidnum', to keep Amorite nomads out of Sumer. Like his predecessors he was worshipped as a god in his lifetime.
