Thukela River
The Thukela, or Tugela, is the largest river of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. It rises in the Drakensberg, plunges over the Tugela Falls and flows about 500 kilometres east to the Indian Ocean. In the nineteenth century it was the boundary between the Zulu Kingdom and the British Colony of Natal, and it saw heavy fighting in the Second Boer War.
