Western Thrace
Western Thrace is the region between the Nestos and Evros rivers in north-eastern Greece. Taken by Bulgaria in the First Balkan War, it saw a short-lived Muslim-led provisional government in 1913, passed to Greece after the First World War, and its Muslim minority was exempted from the population exchange of 1923.
