Zweibrücken
Zweibrücken is a town in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, near the border with Saarland. It was the seat of the Counts of Zweibrücken and from 1453 of the Palatinate-Zweibrücken line of the Wittelsbachs, whose dukes later became kings of Sweden and of Bavaria. France occupied it in 1793 and annexed it in 1797; it passed to Bavaria in 1816.
