Also known as Kurru

El-Kurru is a royal cemetery near Napata in northern Sudan, burial place of the early kings of Kush. The tombs of Kashta, Piye, Shabaka, Shebitku and Tantamani lie there, with pyramids built in the Egyptian manner, and the kings' horses were buried nearby. It forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Gebel Barkal and the Sites of the Napatan Region.
