Gbe languages
The Gbe languages are a group of closely related languages of the Volta–Niger family spoken from south-eastern Ghana through Togo and Benin to south-western Nigeria. The largest are Ewe and Fon, and others include Aja, Gun and Gen. They were the languages of the coastal kingdoms of Allada, Whydah and Dahomey, and enslaved Gbe speakers carried their religion, Vodun, to the Americas.
