Nobel Prize
The Nobel Prizes are international awards founded under the will of the Swedish chemist and industrialist Alfred Nobel and first awarded in 1901. They are given each year for physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature and peace, and since 1969 also for economic sciences, a prize established by Sweden's central bank. The prizes are presented in Stockholm, except for the peace prize, which is awarded in Oslo.
