Siberia
Siberia is the vast region of northern Asia extending from the Ural Mountains to the Pacific. Russian expansion across it began in the late sixteenth century, driven by the fur trade, and continued into the nineteenth century. The Trans-Siberian Railway enabled military projection and the exploitation of Siberian resources.
