Also known as Amenemhet III

Amenemhat III was a pharaoh of the Twelfth Dynasty who reigned for about 45 years in the 19th century BCE, the height of the Middle Kingdom. He developed the Faiyum with irrigation works, exploited the Sinai turquoise mines and built pyramids at Dahshur and Hawara, where his mortuary temple was later known to Greeks as the Labyrinth.
