Amphora

Also known as amphorae

An amphora is a two-handled ceramic jar used in the ancient Mediterranean world to transport and store goods such as wine and olive oil. Finds of Roman amphorae in the Fezzan of southern Libya show that the Garamantian Empire imported Mediterranean goods. They are evidence of the Garamantes' trade contacts with the Roman world.
